This pedal is fine for my needs. Basic, solid pedal that gives a good tone, and with the gain and tone rolled back to about 7 and 8 o'clock I get a nice bit of sustain too. a no trills pedal that performs, and for forty dollars, not a bank buster.

It is a very simple product to use, not much in frills and thrills!! I have not had any prpblems, all though this is my first pedal of any type, the ony thing i would complain about is the 9V battery wears down when not in use... I just unpluck the battery when not useing!!

I purchased this pedal used. The guy used it once and said he amplifier provided the same style of distortion. I feel I got a pretty good deal on this pedal.
After using the pedal compared to what my amplifiers provide I much prefer the sound out of the SD-1.
If you are looking for hard core heavy rock distortion this pedal isn’t for you. It gives you a much warmer tube amp feel.
I find it great for Southern Rock style or even Country style of playing. I use it for Contemporary/Jazz type of stuff as well.
All in all, this pedal gives me a sound I am pleased with.
