Ovation Standard Balladeer model 1861.Cherry sunburst in colour.Mine was made in 1979.dated through the serial no. on Ovations helpfull web site. Bought used and having been knocked around a little, still a very solid guit.I love the sound of this guitar even in my hands,If you can find one for 3x the price of a beginner guitar buy it,if you can afford one new you are a lucky man.The neck and action just sings quality , after getting used to the bowlback a dreadnought feels massive and ancient to me.

Ovation Standard Balladeer--Thin Body, May 22, 2007

Great guitar! The sound is great. The action is low and easy compared to other guitars I've owned. The rounded back is a bit of a challenge to get used to. I suspect that it would be even more difficult with the wide body model. The built in EQ is nice when you're playing straight into a direct box. And it's easy to turn off when you wish to use a processor or your amp's EQ.
