peavey jsx 2 12 combo amp, November 11, 2007
Reviewer: GINO SANTANGELO OF FLASHBACK from NEW YORK.NEWYORK USA
This amplifier is the best I have ever owned The clean channel is just as good or better than a vintage 60' fender twin. The crunch channel can be used fro 99 percent of anyones songs and the ultra can be used for anything from screaming lead to metallica type metal rhythmn. I used to use my lee jackson custom modified jcm 800 marshall but now I only need my jsx at any volume its great built in noise reduction and the effects loop make it the best. Joe Satch and the guys at peavey really outdid themselves on this one.

Peavey Classic 30, May 25, 2007

Great amp. Sounds fantastic by itself or with lots of pedals through the effects loop. I'd buy another in a heartbeat and probably will anyway for stereo applications.

Peavey Valve King 100 watt Head, May 23, 2007
Reviewer: Rustyrat from Ithaca, NY
at 399 this is the best tube head for the cash. I'm running it thru a full stack of V-30 speakers at 4 ohms. Perfect for classic rock and 80's hair band stuff. Doesn't break the bank and it has been very reliable on the road for 10 months so far.

Transtube series Transformer 212, May 23, 2007

I really like this amp!!lots of power (100 watts) 2 x 12 combo.
effects loop, onboard effects and amp models (4 banks of 4)
with included foot switch..Power adjuster (0 to 100 %) so I can overdrive it at pretty low volumes..Clean tones are great but the crunch and high gain models rock..This was last years model but I would buy it again!!

Peavey Blazer 158, May 23, 2007

Just a note on this amp, I have had it for about a year now and it has served me fine, but I think that its a little harsh sounding, and to use fully I think for practice it's ok. I think for a beginner such as myself getting back into playing after45 years, it served the purpose. But , I am ready to move on to something more versatile, a little bigger with more options, effects ect. So from a beginner stand point to start out it will get you buy, it is far better than alot out there.

Peavy Transtube 258 EFX, May 22, 2007

Excellent studio/practice amp. At 40 watts it packs plenty of volume & the special effects are awesome. However it could use some external boosting of the distortion effects that the manual says it has, but I've been unable to get a decent implementation of it. Otherwise the tremelo, echo, phaser, and such are excellent. Don't use much more than these myself. I love the amp and don't regret buying it one iota other than the weak distortion.

Peavey Valve King VK 112, May 22, 2007

Nice "retro" look in a vinyl covered ( and open back) case. 2 channels with 2 inputs that can be switched in and out with the optional foot-switch (which must be ordered seperatly). It puts out 50 wats into a 12" speaker custom made for Peavey. The Valves are a pair of 6L6GC and 12AX7's. It can be adjusted between a class "A" and class "AB" amp with a turn of a knob. The clean channel in the "Class A" configuration is, well... "Clean". Very crisp and very Fender'ish with the "bright" switch on. I'm just now playing around with the different (subtle but different) sounds that you can get moving between the class "a" and "AB" settings. The lead channel has infinite gain with the addition of a"volume" and "gain boost" that is also controlled by the optional foot-switch. And finally, there's a true spring reverb which offers a quality that really can't be created digitally.
I love this amp! Very ballsy for a 50 watter and what a sweet, classic tube sound. The ability to infinitely switch between a class "A" and "AB" amp adds a dimension that can't be had in any other amp at this price. (about $400). Peavey had it's problems with the solid-state amps in the 70's and 80's but they are clearly back on track with this amp. My opinion is that it is the best bang for the buck for someone looking for a tube amp with those classic tones. You can pay a LOT more for an amp but why when this can hold its own with some of the best. My only gripe is that the foot-switch cost extra but is really necessary to get the most flexibility of performance in this amp. Otherwise it would get 5 stars.
